Fall season and a hodge podge of other things

Friday, Friday, Friday...I love Fridays.  Today seems like it'll be a slow one though but beautiful.  It's going to be around 80 so not too bad, I do love the fall season.  Things I love about fall...Thanksgiving holiday, along with football, cool but sunny days, fall colors, long-selves and cute scarfs.  So many people skip over Thanksgiving but it's my favorite (I'm partial to that holiday since the day and year I was born was the actual Thanksgiving Day) holiday and I love the food but I especially love having family to share it with and to give thanks.  We are all so blessed in this world to have all we have and to have the grace of God.  I'm so thankful for the Lord's mercy and grace on me. Without His sacrifice I would be nothing and I am forever grateful for my salvation!

So this weekend will be - me and my brain working on an essay for my Anthropology class on Tuesday and cleaning.  What a combination huh?  OH...how could I forget...of course, me watching the Georgia vs. Mississippi State game.  GO DAWGS!!!!  Can I insert here something about my love for UGA - so I love the Bulldogs, always have and always will but I have married into a family of Tennessee fans.  YIKES!  One against many but still I stand strong and will not waiver. My blood runs "red" (well my husband says that our blood is really blue until it comes in contact with air which makes it red) but never, ever, ever will it be orange...yuck!

That's pretty much it for today and my weekend.  I might have to sneak some sewing in to finish up some projects for girls at church but other than that my weekend is as I described it above.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well.  I'd love to hear about what your weekend consist of so feel free to leave comments on my page.  Thank you so much for following me and reading my none-sense posts.

Here is a few pictures of my key fobs which started my sewing crazy a year or so ago.  I had sold quite a bit of these and then I branched out making other things and then the key fobs fell by the waste side.

Nothing Day and Must Love Dogs

Okay, so we celebrated Tye's birthday yesterday and still today.  What is this a weeks worth of birthday?  Just a reminder I'm not a birthday person and he is so he is living this up!  Tonight dinner with the whole family and a rest from school.

So I promised you Neylee stories...well I don't have one right at the moment besides the fact this crazy dog is driving me nuts with our sleeping arrangement.  She sleeps with us (I know some people like it some don't) but I at the moment want to say "I don't".  Simply because we have a queen size bed and my husband sleeps on one-half of the bed and Neylee who starts out sleeping beside me ends up taking the other half of the bed.  Mind you, my side of the bed.  I'm on the edge of the bed in the mornings and my "precious" little monster of a dog is sleeping with her head on my pillow and her body under the covers.

And to beat it all she "huffs" at me when I attempt to pull the covers over myself.  Like I'm the one disturbing her of all things!  To add more, I even feel bad in the mornings when I'm getting ready for work and turn the light on and she provides me with yet another "huff" and crawls under the covers to hide from the light.

Can anyone else see something wrong in this story?  This dog is not just a dog at times, I think she knows more than we give her credit for.

Here are some pictures we've taken of her from time to time.

Sneaky Planning Day!

Today is sneaky planning day!  So my hubby's birthday is tomorrow and I'm not a big birthday type person but he is and he loves birthdays and surprises.  Me, being a procrastinator I have waited till the last minute to plan something fun for his 28th birthday.  Therefore, sneaky planning day was created.  I want him to think I didn't do anything for him and then in the morning and all day tomorrow he'll have little surprises and gifts popping up all day long.

So hopefully, it'll make his birthday really special for him.

The bad thing is I have class this evening until late so getting all the little surprises is going to take a little finagling of my schedule but I think I can get what I need...wish me luck.

I'll let you know how things turn out.  Have a happy Tuesday!

Yard Sales - you either love or you hate them

So this weekend mom (aka mother-in-law) and I had a yard sale.

Wait a minute...here is where I go on another tangent.  This woman I am referring to has to be the most wonderful lady in the entire world.  I grew up without a mother so until I was married I never understood the meaning of having a mother.  And now I'm married to a man whose mother is everything I could ever have asked for and I am blessed beyond measure to be able to call her mom.  I'm really not sure that I deserve her love and kindness because I know I'm a handful and with Tye and I together we can sometimes drive people crazy.  But she endures us and loves me and I am so grateful and thankful that the Lord gave her to me.  I love her unconditionally and I wouldn't give her up for anything.  I know people say their mother-in-law can be rough but I can honestly say this woman is my best friend and I would do anything for her and I love her with my whole heart.

Okay back to the yard sale.  If you ever had a yard sale you know that it takes a lot of work.  Cleaning out nooks and crannies and sorting through all your stuff and getting it organized and setting up early in the morning.  Well that's what we did Friday and Saturday...Friday was getting everything sorted through and Saturday was the big day.  One thing I enjoy is talking with people and all the funny things people say and do.  We met some neighbors and had some friends stop by as well.  Neylee was anxious to come outside and be with us so we let her hang out and she did so well and sat in her little chair as people milled around.

We ended up closing up shop around 4-ish and took all the leftovers to the Goodwill.  All in all we did pretty well considering all of it was "junk" stuff basically.  It was worth all the trouble but I'm glad it's over with finally.

So that was my weekend basically...church yesterday morning and we started our Revival.  Afterwards, we took Tye out to J-Alexander's to celebrate him passing his test.

CONGRATULATIONS TYE (aka husband) for passing your test!  I love you and I'm so proud of you!!!!

I tried to study some but the "nap-monster" took me and I slept for an hour instead.  Then Tye and I being slackers went to see a movie.  We had a great time spending time together.

Weekends go by so fast it seems and now it's Monday.

my little projects

Okay so one thing I didn't mention was that I'm an avid sewing nut.  I make baby blankets, bibs, purses, key fobs, makeup bags, beach bags, aprons, get the picture yet?  I also have a monogramming machine so I'm a monogramming fool...and with half of our church being "pregers" and others friends outside of church popping out as well...it's been a busy last couple of months with my sewing.

I love sewing don't get me wrong (it's my relief sometimes for life's stress) but here lately with work, school (yes,
I'm going to school at night...that's another entry later) and just everyday stuff it's been a little overwhelming at times.  Plus, I have to admit (first step in fixing something is admitting that you have a problem- haa ha) I'm a procrastinator...there I said it.  So that posses the main reason I've been stressed.

In the end though, seeing my finished products makes me glow a little bit and gives me a sense of pride when the recipient loves their gift.  I've made tons of baby blankets and have to say I loved them all.

Again you'll be reading or seeing some of my projects along the way.

Here are a few examples of my little sewing projects:

One I just finished on Monday for a friend.

This is one of my very first blankets I did for a girl at work.

First time blogger...ahhh...new adventures I love them.

This is my first posting and I have to say it's kind of weird talking to myself because no one knows I've created a blog and who in the world will ever see this or keep up with it...?  Never the less I created this "monster" aka blog to be sort of an everlasting online journal of my life.  Things I do and the person I am...

So let's start out with a little bit about me...
I'm 31 about to be 32, married (and here is where I have to jump off line because I need to input a little bit about my husband.  The good Lord must have made this man just for me from day one in this life because he puts up with me and my craziness and loves me unconditionally.  He is very patient with me (more patient than I could ever be) and thoughtful and always willing to change to make me happy.  He makes me laugh constantly, a little annoying at times but who isn't, always thinking of little things to make me feel special, and my complete opposite but strangely just like me in some areas.  Does that make sense?  He is my better half and I thank God for him daily!

Okay, so I'm a half and half...that is a Japanese/America (dad American/mom Japanese).  I like being different I think I always have...not just that part but everything in general.  I like trying new things and always have my bucket list in the back of my mind...thinking of all the things I want to check off as I go through life.

I love the Lord and I'm so thankful that He has loved me enough to save me.  I'm thankful for His grace and mercy and all His blessings He provides.  I don't think I deserve all that I have but I'm grateful daily.

I have to add a little insert...currently we do not have kids...being married going on 2 years in October (we wanted to spend a little time by ourselves before we jumped right in).  But we have Neylee aka Neylee-Bug aka Bug, an amazing French bulldog, and the center of our lives (which includes being the center of my in-laws as well).  She is remarkably smart (she takes after me- haa ha) and always proves that animals are smarter than we give them credit.  My plan is to start recording her and all her shenanigans to prove all my stories about her are true.  There will be plenty of stories about her in the future I'm sure.

So I don't want to be too lengthy with my first entry but tried to give you a few high-lights about me and my life...

Hope you enjoy this blog because I know this will provide me a little bit of my own personal therapy.
