Fun weekend!

We had an awesome weekend!  It started off Friday evening with dinner with friends at Tony's Italian restaurant and off to the Double Decker Ghost tour.  The tour lasted an hour and they drove us around downtown Chattanooga (it was an awesome clear night, a bit on the nippy side but with a jacket it was fine) and told us about Chattanooga's history and different ghost tales.  Ending the ride with Monster Mash and Thriller booming on the speakers!  Right before we jumped off the bus for the night we were handed a Double Cola and Moon Pie (both originated in the wonderful city of Chattanooga).

Tye didn't enjoy it too much because he said it wasn't all about scary ghost stories and they had too many pauses in between.  But I think it was perfect...I liked the little bits of history that was added that I didn't know about and the little pauses gave me time to enjoy the night air and the beautiful city lights.  All in all I'm giving it 5 star rating.

So Saturday I spent the day with my mom (aka mother-in-law) riding around looking for property and a lunch date to Countryside Restaurant.  If you have never eaten at Countryside you are missing out - and sadly we missed out as well on Saturday.  They were closed due to a family wedding...sad for me but happy day for them I'm sure because it was such a beautiful day.  Okay this little family owned restaurant is up in Ooltewah and is a meat and 3 good ole fashion home cooking place.  Must go to!  Unfortunately, we ended up eating...law...I can't even remember...oh yeah I remember...Red Lobster.  Aha...it was okay but definitely not Countryside that is for sure!

That evening Tye and I went to catch a movie...Money Ball.  It ended up being long but well worth seeing...we both enjoyed the movie.

Sunday...church.  And to my surprise my best friend and her husband came to visit.  It was a wonderful service - we had a local family band perform for the service and it was so moving.  For evening service about 40 or so of the church meet up at the Rave to watch the new movie Courageous.  It is a must see movie...I laughed hysterically, I cried, and everything in between.  It has a beautiful message.  Tye and I both liked the movie a lot.

So there you go...my fun, wonderful weekend.  Sorry I completely forgot about taking pictures but I've posted some I've found on the Internet.  God bless and have a wonderful rest of the day!

Hum-drum Day

Today is a blah day to me...YEAH the sun just popped out a little...sorry its been dreary this morning and a little bit of sunshine makes things perk up it seems.

A pinch of sunshine!
I have a project in mind that I wanted to share with you.  Scarves for my co-workers - that's what I plan on making for them in our secret Santa stockings.  Each year a certain group of us at work put up stockings and purchase a gift of $1-$2 value to stuff inside each stocking.  My "go-to" gift is Dollar Tree socks but this year I purchased some grey polar fleece and have the intention of appliqueing each person's initial on the scarf.  It will come out roughly right at a dollar I figured out and will (hopefully) be a cute gift.

In 2 weeks I have fall break at school so I plan on starting on them then unless I get the notion to sneak some in sooner.  I have a good feeling about them - hopefully they'll turn out perfect!

On to another topic - this weekend we plan on using our Groupon coupon on Saturday to take a Ghost Tour in downtown (Chattanooga aka Chatt-Town) on a double-decker bus.  We will be joining our friends, Daniel and Sarah, along with another couple to dinner and then a tour at 10:30pm.  How appropriate to have a late night tour...spooky...right!

This is a picture from Groupon
I've been on a real double-decker in London before and it was so neat...but I can't wait to experience this in our own hometown and a ghost tour to boot!  I think we'll all have a wonderful time and hopefully I'll remember to take pictures and post those along with my thoughts about the night.

Hope you are all enjoying this fall weather and all the beautiful colors of the trees.  That's what I love most about fall - the colors!  It's amazing to see what a beautiful world the Lord created for us and what an exquisite color pallet He has...gorgeous!  Every time I go anywhere that's what I notice the most, all the colors and how bright they are on the different trees.

Well I guess I spouted enough out for now...stay tuned!

AWESOME weekend!

My weekend was awesome!  Georgia wins again this year and I'm loving it - we had a great weekend only bad thing is night games stink.  I was tired and then we had to drive home afterwards.  Here are a couple of pics from the game.
So I sewed some things this weekend and remembered to take a few pictures of some things but completely forgot to take pictures of the blanket I made this Sunday.  Mom suggested that I start making purses again so that might be my next big project.

I made a couple of Greek gifts for a co-workers daughter for her sorority sister so those are below. And I made several bibs and a blanket which a girl at church is supposed to be getting me a picture, hopefully. If you like I'd love to hear your comments.

Georgia VS Tennessee

I apologize for not posting anything recently but work and school has been a hot mess.  School is getting back to normal and I'm starting to realize I need to work out my studying schedule a little bit better.  I really enjoy writing these little posts and hope you enjoy them too.  I'm going to be sewing a little here in the next couple of days so I'll post those up too.

So this weekend will be a fun getaway weekend for Tye and I...we are going to the GA/TN game in Knoxville.  Our anniversary is October 24 but our tradition is to go to the game each year which normally is 2 weeks prior to our real anniversary date.  We plan on going up early in the day and have lunch and spend the day together since the game doesn't start until 7pm.

I can't wait - the fall weather and spending time with my hubby.  GO DAWGS!!!!
